Migraine Treatment – Migraine Headache Treatments with Fioricet

Occasionally everyone gets a run-of-the-mill headache. You can swiftly and easily rid yourself of these “tension headaches,” as termed by doctors, by sleeping, consuming water, or taking aspirin or Tylenol.

If you have experienced constant tension headaches, you know that they wreak havoc in all you do. In a study conducted by the American Headache Society, it was demonstrated that almost three-quarters of chronic headache sufferers experience significant difficulties dealing with everyday activities due to the headaches.

Besides the actual headache, migraine sufferers have other symptoms; for example, they are extremely sensitive to light and may spend several days each month in a darkened room because the pain of being in the light is unbearable.

Fioricet: A New Choice

One of the medications that have been developed by researchers to manage headaches is Fioricet. It has also been proven to have an effect on headaches brought on by tension. Although research hasn’t demonstrated its success against migraines, there are migraine sufferers who report some benefit.

There are three active ingredients in Fioricet and each attacks a different “part” of your headache, in the same way a laundry detergent might have different active ingredients to deal with dirty stains, grease spots, and odor.

How do the dynamic three do its work?

Fioricet has three parts, two of which may be familiar:
*Butalbital
*Acetaminophen
*Caffeine

Butalbital is classified as a barbiturate and just as with any other barbiturate, it tends to make you feel relaxed. Butalbital will relax you. You will feel slightly drowsy, but that appears to ease the stress-induced headaches.

You may recognize a drug called acetaminophen as a drug which is the active ingredient in Tylenol. When combined with a relaxant, it can assist with the relief of pain.

The ‘high’ some might feel after consuming tea, coffee, soda or chocolate is brought on by the caffeine content. The flow of blood to the brain is reduced by the assistance of caffeine. According to many scientists, “too much” blood flowing to the brain is a key reason for chronic tension headaches; caffeine, then, can reduce or prevent that effect altogether.

Fioricet plays a role in your pain-management routine — If you suffer from chronic headaches, you might think that anything that promises to get your life back to normal sounds like a gift from God.

Some questions to consider prior to discussing a prescription with your physician:

*Am I a migraine sufferer? In case you aren’t sure, discuss symptoms with your physician prior to determining you need Fioricet.

*Does my day to day life depend on my ability to drive, or operate machinery? If you take more Fioricet than you should or if you’re extremely sensitive to barbiturates, you will feel and behave like someone who has consumed too much alcohol. You certainly don’t want to be “drunk” while operating a crane or other machinery, or driving the kids to school, soccer practice, or other activities!

*Must I consume a pain-killer at least every day? You can become dependent on Fioricet. If you develop a dependence, you can get what are called “rebound headaches” (these are headaches caused by the drug exiting your system); you can also have even more critical health effects. Your physician may recommend Fioricet as a standby drug, for use when your customary pills aren’t effective. Do not use this medication if you have had a dependency on another drug, including alcohol.

I’ve mulled it over, now where do I go from here?

Get on the Internet and find an online pharmacy. At the first sign of a chronic headache, you will be all set to start taking it. Talking with your physician about any concerns or side effects, like being dizzy or feeling drowsy, will help you manage this drug so that it can play a role in your plan for a life free of pain!
